Westbound I-595 open again after crash

dsmiley@MiamiHerald.com

Authorities were forced to close down the westbound lanes of Interstate 595 near Northwest 136th Avenue Thursday morning after a crash scattered debris across the highway.

The two-car, rear-end collision took place about 11 a.m. and the highway was closed for a little longer than half an hour in order to clean up glass and debris, said Sgt. Mark Wysocky, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman.

The drivers of the two vehicles were taken to Cleveland Clinic in Weston and one passenger was taken to Broward General Medical Center.

No one was seriously injured, Wysocky said.
