Repeat burglary suspects caught in Miami
Three men accused of breaking into a Miami home last week were collared by cops -- just minutes after they tried to break into the same home Tuesday morning, police said.
One of the suspects was nabbed after leaping over fences and sprinting through yards, panting as police gave chase in a residential area near Southwest Fourth Street and 45th Avenue at 11:30 a.m.
The first burglary happened at 4541 SW Fifth St. last week. Called to the same house Tuesday, police quickly caught up with two of the suspects, including a 17-year-old, but another got away.
But not for long.
The 18-year-old suspect ran through yards, jumping over fences and hiding between a utility shed and a fence at a home two blocks away.
Miami police Sgt. Leandro Abad's German Shepard, Achilles, wasn't too far behind. The 5-year-old Achilles spotted the suspect, and without much of a bite, led him out of his hiding place.
