Region's chaotic union

The leaders of 33 Latin America and Caribbean countries gathered in Sauípe, Brazil, to discuss and foster Latin American integration. They were summoned by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, a man with enormous national and international prestige. The participants deliberately excluded the United States and Canada, which left Brazil as the major regional power. That's the farewell present da Silva wants to give his people: the leadership of the continent.
